About Battle Space
Battle Space came out for the Game Boy in 1990, published by Acclaim. It was part of that early wave of portable games where developers were figuring out what worked on the small screen, often creating compact, focused experiences. You don't hear much about it now, but it had its place.
You pilot a lone starfighter, moving screen by screen through a vertically scrolling field. Your main goal is to survive the onslaught of alien invaders and destroy their mothership. The core mechanics are straightforward: you shoot waves of enemies while dodging their return fire, and you collect power-ups that upgrade your ship's weapons. The game is known for its relentless pace and sharp difficulty curve, demanding quick reflexes and careful movement.
