Battle Dodge Ball is one of those weird, hyperactive Game Boy sports games that somehow turns dodgeball into a full-on brawl. You pick a team (Japan, USA, etc.), and suddenly you're hurling balls at opponents with way more force than any school gym class ever allowed. The physics are ridiculous—players go flying across the court like they got hit by a truck, and the super shots feel borderline illegal. It's chaotic, but in that perfect early '90s way where everything’s just slightly off and twice as loud as it needs to be.
Matches are fast, messy, and weirdly strategic once you figure out how to angle throws. I kept picking Japan at first because their uniforms looked cool, but turns out their ace player has this insane curveball that’s borderline unfair. The AI doesn’t hold back either—get cocky, and you’ll eat a faceful of rubber before you can blink. It’s the kind of game where you’ll yell at the screen within five minutes, but in a good way.
If you’ve got a soft spot for retro sports games that don’t take themselves seriously, this one’s a riot. Just don’t expect realism—or mercy.
