About Batman - Return Of The Joker (japan)
I first played Batman: Return of the Joker on my Game Boy in 1992. Sunsoft, the developer, had a good reputation for action games on the NES, and this was their take on a portable Batman adventure. It felt like a solid effort for the handheld at the time, a side-scrolling action game you could take with you.
You control Batman through a series of levels, moving screen by screen. Your main goal is to stop the Joker's latest scheme. You punch and kick your way through his henchmen, and you have a projectile weapon, a multi-directional Batarang, which is useful for hitting enemies from a distance. The levels are linear but require careful platforming, and the difficulty ramps up noticeably, especially during boss fights. It feels like a challenging, straightforward brawler that tests your reflexes and patience.
