Bassmasters 2000 is one of those weirdly satisfying N64 fishing games where you actually feel like you're learning something. The first time I played, I just chucked my lure randomly into the water and waited—big mistake. Turns out, different fish actually respond to different lures and depths, so you’ve gotta pay attention to the little details.
The water physics are surprisingly decent for an N64 game, with ripples and reflections that make the lakes feel alive. And yeah, it’s relaxing… until you hook a monster bass and suddenly it’s a full-on tug-of-war with the D-pad. Not gonna lie, I lost a few at first because I kept reeling too fast.
If you’ve got even a passing interest in fishing games, this one’s a solid pick—just don’t expect it to replace actual fishing. Unless you really hate mosquitoes.
