I picked up Bases Loaded on my Game Boy back in 1990, a portable baseball game from Jaleco. It was one of the many sports titles trying to capture the feel of the sport on that small, green-tinted screen. You didn't get the full teams or stadiums of the console versions, but it was baseball you could take anywhere, which was the whole point.

You control the pitcher and batter, switching between them each half-inning. The main goal is simple: score more runs than the computer. When you're pitching, you select a type of pitch and aim it; the batter's swing timing and placement are everything when you're at the plate. The game moves quickly from pitch to hit, and the fielding is mostly handled by the computer. It can be difficult to connect with the ball consistently, and a single hit often feels like a major victory. Playing it feels like a constant, tense duel against the pitcher's best stuff.
