Remember when Game Boy games were just weird little adventures? Bart Simpson's Escape From Camp Deadly is exactly that—a short, janky platformer where you play as Bart trying to sneak out of some nightmare summer camp. The counselors are out to get you, the other kids are basically obstacles, and everything moves at that classic, slightly-too-slow Game Boy pace.
You’ll jump over logs, throw slingshot marbles at angry squirrels (because of course), and occasionally stumble into hidden areas that feel like they weren’t playtested enough. The pixel art nails that early Simpsons vibe, though, and there’s something oddly satisfying about watching Bart faceplant into a bush for the tenth time. It’s not deep, but it’s got that weird 90s licensed-game charm where you can tell the developers just ran with whatever dumb idea sounded fun.
If you’re into retro games that feel like they were made in a weekend, this one’s a weird little time capsule. Just don’t expect it to hold your attention for long.
