About Baby T-rex (europe)
I picked up Baby T-Rex for the Game Boy back in 1994, a release from Hudson Soft. It was one of those many platformers from that era, a time when developers were really figuring out what you could do on that little green screen. You don't play as a fearsome dinosaur, but as a young T-Rex named Rex, which immediately sets a different tone.
You guide Rex through levels screen by screen, using your bite to defeat enemies and a tail whip attack to hit things a little farther away. The main goal is to rescue your friends, Louie and Cecilia, from the villainous Professor Screw Eyes. You explore areas, break open eggs to collect power-ups, and navigate environmental puzzles. The pacing is methodical, and some jumps require precise timing, making it trickier than it first appears. It feels like a straightforward, slightly challenging quest from a simpler time.
