It was released by THQ and developed by Imagineering, a game that tried to cash in on the cult film during a time when the NES was flooded with movie tie-ins. It was just another cartridge on the shelf, not particularly famous, but the bizarre premise made it stand out.

You control a kid named Chad, running through suburban neighborhoods and city streets to rescue your girlfriend from the tomato menace. The main goal is to find and destroy the mother tomato in each stage, which requires you to explore the area screen by screen. You use a slingshot to stun regular tomatoes, then you have to stomp on them to finish them off. The game is surprisingly difficult; the tomatoes respawn quickly, and navigating the maze-like stages while avoiding their constant attacks can feel chaotic. Playing it is a test of patience more than skill, a repetitive cycle of shooting and stomping that never quite feels satisfying.
