About Astro Rabby
Astro Rabby came out for the Game Boy in 1990, developed by Atelier Double. It was part of that wave of early platformers that tried to do something a little different with the hardware. You don't see many people talking about it now, but it had its own ideas.
You control Rabby, a rabbit in a space suit, and your goal is to rescue your captured rabbit friends across several planets. The main thing you do is jump. Your jump is your primary tool; you bounce on enemies to defeat them, and the height of your bounce depends on how long you hold the button. You explore each stage screen by screen, looking for keys to unlock doors and hunting for your hidden friends. The game can be quite difficult, with precise platforming required and some unforgiving enemy placements. It feels like a test of patience and timing more than anything else.
