If you've ever played a twin-stick shooter, you owe it to Asteroids. This Game Boy port keeps it simple: you're a little triangle ship spinning in place, blasting apart space rocks before they crush you. The controls feel a little stiff at first—no analog sticks here—but once you get the hang of tapping to rotate and thrusting forward, it's weirdly satisfying.
Big rocks split into smaller ones, and if you're not careful, the screen fills up with deadly debris. The arcade original was all about high scores, and that still holds up—there's something addictive about barely surviving a close call, then immediately diving back in for "one more try." Just don't expect flashy power-ups or boss fights. This is pure, old-school "you versus the void."
It's amazing how tense a game with three buttons and monochrome graphics can get.
