Remember that old Asterix Game Boy game? Yeah, the one where you run around as the tiny mustached Gaul, smacking Romans with your fists and occasionally grabbing a magic potion for that sweet, sweet temporary invincibility. It's basically a side-scrolling beat 'em up with some light platforming—nothing groundbreaking, but it's got that classic 90s charm.
First few minutes go like this: You start in a village, punch a few helmeted goons, jump over some pits (the hit detection's a little janky, but you get used to it), and then fight a boss who's basically just a bigger Roman. The music's catchy in that tinny Game Boy way, and the sprites are surprisingly detailed for the hardware. Also, weirdly, you can play as Obelix too if you want, but he feels kinda overpowered—like, of course he does, the guy fell in the potion as a kid.
It's not the deepest game, but if you're into retro stuff or just love Asterix, it's a solid little time capsule. Just don't expect a masterpiece.
