Armadillo (japan) Game

Armadillo’s one of those weird little NES games that never made it outside Japan—which is a shame, because it’s got this bizarre charm. You play as a rolling armadillo (obviously) smashing through blocky, maze-like stages while dodging enemies. The physics feel janky at first—like, why does bouncing off walls sometimes send you flying?—but once you get the hang of it, there’s something weirdly satisfying about ricocheting around like a pinball.
It’s got that classic early ‘90s vibe with bright colors and chiptune music that somehow makes rolling in circles for way too long feel like an adventure. The US version got scrapped, so unless you’ve got a Famicom or an emulator, you’re missing out on one of the NES’s hidden oddities. Definitely not for everyone, but if you like quirky platformers, it’s worth a spin.
