Animal Attack on NES is one of those weird, janky games you stumble across when digging through old-school titles. You control this little dude who’s constantly getting swarmed by animals—like, aggressively friendly ones? Birds dive-bomb you, dogs charge in, and somehow even fish leap out of ponds to knock you over. The controls are stiff, but there’s something oddly charming about the chaos.

At first, I thought it was just a bad knockoff of something like Popeye, but after a few rounds, the sheer absurdity grew on me. The music’s this repetitive bouncy tune that somehow fits the nonsense happening on screen. If you’re into obscure NES games with bizarre premises, this one’s a trip.
