I first played The Amazing Spider-Man on my Game Boy back in 1990. It was developed by Rare and published by LJN, a time when handheld games were often simpler, scaled down versions of their console counterparts. This one tried to bring a full action adventure to the small screen.

You control Spider-Man through a series of side scrolling levels. Your main goal is to rescue your girlfriend Mary Jane from a host of classic villains. You punch and web swing your way through enemies, navigating platforms and avoiding environmental hazards.
