All-Star Tennis 99 is one of those N64 sports games that actually holds up—surprisingly solid for a late-90s tennis sim. You pick from a roster of pros (some real, some fictional, all with that classic N64-era polygonal charm) and jump straight into matches where the ball physics feel weighty and satisfying. Grass, clay, hardcourt—each surface actually changes how you play, which was rare back then.
The AI puts up a decent fight even on medium difficulty, but where it really shines is local multiplayer. Nothing like trash-talking your friend after nailing a down-the-line winner with that slightly janky N64 controller. Just don’t expect modern visuals—this is peak blocky character models and repetitive grunt sounds. Still weirdly addictive though.
