Alien Syndrome is one of those old-school arcade shooters that somehow made its way to the NES—and honestly, it’s a bit of a mess, but in a fun way. You’ve got this top-down view where you’re blasting through hordes of aliens, rescuing hostages (who, let’s be real, mostly just get in the way), and trying not to get overwhelmed by the sheer number of creepy crawlies coming at you.
The controls feel a little stiff compared to the arcade version, but there’s something satisfying about the chaos. You start with a basic pea shooter, but grabbing power-ups is key—otherwise, you’ll get swarmed fast. And yeah, it’s technically co-op, but good luck coordinating with a friend when the screen’s packed with enemies.
It’s not the prettiest or smoothest NES port, but if you’re into retro shooters with that classic SEGA arcade vibe, it’s worth a few playthroughs. Just don’t expect it to go easy on you.
