Alfred Chicken is one of those weird little Game Boy gems that sticks with you—mostly because it’s about a chicken fighting robot chickens. You hop around surreal levels pecking enemies, dodging hazards, and rescuing your feathery pals from cages. The controls are simple, but some jumps require weirdly precise timing, and I definitely faceplanted into spikes more than once before getting the hang of it.
The art’s got this goofy charm—Alfred’s got this blank stare like he can’t believe he’s stuck doing this, and the levels are full of bizarre details (why is there a giant pencil in the background?). The music’s catchy in that classic Game Boy way, all bleepy and upbeat even when you’re getting wrecked by a conveyor belt. It’s short but tough, and honestly, the sheer absurdity of it all makes the frustration worth it. If you dig old-school platformers with personality, this one’s a trip.
