Alfred Chicken is this weird little Game Boy platformer where you play as, well, a chicken—bright red, tiny wings, and somehow capable of jumping way higher than any chicken should. The levels are these surreal, blocky landscapes with floating platforms and enemies that look like they escaped from a kid’s doodle notebook.
It’s got that classic early 90s jank—sometimes you’ll misjudge a jump and plummet into a pit, but the controls are simple enough that you’ll keep retrying. There’s something oddly charming about pecking at enemies or bouncing off springs while collecting… whatever those shiny things are supposed to be. Definitely one of those games that makes you go, “Yeah, they don’t make ‘em like this anymore.”
