I remember picking up Aladdin for the NES in 1994, a game developed by NMS Software. It came out during that period when movie licenses were everywhere on the console, and you never knew if you were getting something decent or just a quick cash-in. This one always stood out to me, partly because of the different feel it had compared to the more famous Sega version.

You control Aladdin through a series of side-scrolling levels, moving screen by screen. Your main goal is to rescue Princess Jasmine from Jafar, which involves platforming across Agrabah's rooftops, delving into the Cave of Wonders, and fighting guards and skeletons. You use a scimitar for close combat, swiping at enemies directly in front of you, and you can also find apples to throw. The pacing is fairly quick, but the difficulty can spike, especially in later stages with tricky jumps and enemy placements. It feels like a solid, action-focused platformer from that era.
