About Airwolf
Airwolf came out for the Nintendo Entertainment System in 1988, developed by Kyugo Boueki. It was part of that wave of games based on TV shows, and it fit right in with the straightforward action titles of the era.
You pilot the Airwolf helicopter, flying from left to right across scrolling landscapes. Your main job is to rescue prisoners held in enemy bases while fending off aircraft and ground targets. The helicopter is equipped with a machine gun for constant fire and a limited supply of missiles for tougher enemies. Each of the thirty missions requires you to find every prisoner and then escape off the right side of the screen, all while managing your fuel and avoiding enemy fire. The game moves at a brisk pace, and the difficulty comes from the sheer number of enemies and the precision needed to navigate and shoot. It feels like a constant, tense battle against the clock and your own dwindling resources.
