Okay, so AeroGauge on the N64 is basically F-Zero if it had a weird, floaty cousin. You’re piloting these hovercraft things that handle like they’re on ice—takes a minute to get used to, but once you do, sliding around corners feels kinda satisfying. The tracks are wild, all neon and futuristic, with some serious vertical drops that’ll make you white-knuckle the controller.
Don’t expect it to be easy, though. The AI racers are ruthless, and some of the later courses feel like they were designed by someone who hates joy. But when you finally nail a perfect lap, weaving between obstacles at top speed? That’s the good stuff. Just don’t blame me when you wipe out for the tenth time on that one stupid hairpin turn.
It’s not the most polished racer on the N64, but there’s a weird charm to its janky physics and over-the-top aesthetic.
