Play Adventures Of Rocky And Bullwinkle, The (beta) Online

I picked up the Game Boy beta of The Adventures of Rocky and Bullwinkle a while back. It was developed by Imagineering and published by THQ, a pretty common pairing for licensed games on the system in the early 90s. The cartridge feels like a product of its time, a straightforward platformer based on the cartoon.

You control Bullwinkle for most of the game, walking and jumping through side scrolling levels. Rocky is there too; you can switch to him to fly for a short time, which is essential for crossing wide gaps. The main goal is to stop Boris and Natasha by collecting pieces of a rocket scattered across different worlds. The gameplay involves a lot of screen by screen exploration, finding keys to unlock doors, and bouncing on enemies to defeat them. It moves at a decent clip, but some of the platforming can be tricky with the limited view. Playing it feels like a simple, sometimes clumsy, trip through the show's universe.
