Adventures of Musashi is one of those NES gems that flew under the radar back in the day. You play as the legendary samurai Miyamoto Musashi, slashing through enemies with this weirdly satisfying chunky sword swing. The first level throws you right into it—bamboo forests, ninjas popping out of nowhere, and these little floating orbs that give you special attacks. I remember thinking the controls felt stiff at first, but after a few deaths, you get into this rhythm of jump-slashing everything in sight.
What’s cool is how the game mixes platforming with these puzzle-like boss fights where you gotta figure out their patterns. The music’s got that classic NES energy too—upbeat and kinda frantic when things get chaotic. It’s not the deepest game, but there’s something about the simplicity that just works. If you’re into retro action games with a samurai twist, this one’s worth dusting off.
