Advanced Dungeons & Dragons - Heroes Of The Lance (japan) Game
📅 1988 ✍️ Falcon

This one’s a weird little NES RPG based on the Dragonlance books—you control a party of eight classic characters like Tanis and Raistlin, moving them as a single unit through some seriously clunky dungeons. The combat’s turn-based but feels stiff, and the translation’s rough even by 80s standards. Still, if you’re into old-school D&D vibes or just love the books, there’s some charm in seeing these characters in pixel form. Just don’t expect it to hold up like the Gold Box games.
Fun detail: The Japanese version actually has slightly better graphics than the US release, though good luck navigating the menus if you don’t read kanji. The music’s surprisingly decent for an early NES title, at least.
