I first played The Addams Family: Pugsley's Scavenger Hunt on the NES back in 1993. It was developed by Ocean Software, the same company that handled the first Addams Family game on the system. This was during that era when licensed platformers were everywhere, and this one was a direct follow up, though it shifted the focus from Gomez to the kids.

You control Pugsley Addams, and your goal is to find a list of strange items scattered throughout the mansion and its grounds. The game is structured screen by screen; you explore these interconnected rooms, jumping on furniture and avoiding the family's various traps and pets. A key mechanic is using different members of the Addams family you meet to solve puzzles, like having Lurch break down a wall or Wednesday double jump to higher platforms. It's a methodical game, not a fast paced one, and some of the enemy placement can feel a bit cheap, making certain sections frustrating. Navigating the mansion's many identical looking hallways creates a slow, deliberate pace where remembering the layout is part of the challenge.
