About Abadox (japan)
Abadox came out for the Nintendo Entertainment System in 1989, developed by Natsume. It was a time when side-scrolling shooters were common on the platform, and this one tried to stand out with its particular setting and unforgiving pace.
You control a lone soldier, flying into the gaping mouth of a massive, organic alien lifeform. Your goal is to fight your way through its innards to rescue a captured princess. The game alternates between horizontal and vertical scrolling sections, forcing you to navigate tight, fleshy corridors while dodging or shooting a relentless barrage of alien organs and parasites. You collect power-ups to upgrade your main weapon and a secondary pod that orbits you for extra firepower. The challenge is immediate and rarely lets up, demanding quick reflexes and precise movement. It feels like a desperate, claustrophobic fight for survival inside a living, hostile creature.
