Okay, so A Bug’s Life on N64 is basically a 3D platformer where you play as Flik, the ant from the movie. It’s got that bright, cartoony look—lots of oversized grass blades, leaves, and those weirdly charming bug-sized junk piles. You jump around, collect seeds (because of course ants need seeds), and occasionally toss berries at enemies like those jerk grasshoppers.
At first, it feels a little clunky—early 3D platformers, right?—but there’s something weirdly satisfying about navigating tiny ant tunnels and using catapults made of twigs. The levels are pretty straightforward, but some of the later ones actually get kinda tricky with timing jumps over water droplets or dodging bird attacks. Also, Hopper’s voice lines are hilariously over-the-top, just like in the film.
It’s not gonna blow your mind, but if you’re into late-’90s platformers or just want something nostalgic and low-stakes, it’s a decent little time-waster. Just don’t expect it to hold up like Banjo-Kazooie or anything.
