Okay, so A Bug’s Life on N64 is basically what happens when Disney tries to make a 3D platformer—and honestly, it’s not half bad. You play as Flik, the ant with big ideas, hopping around oversized grass blades and dodging those jerk grasshoppers. The levels feel like they ripped straight from the movie, all bright and cartoony, with some sneaky hidden stuff if you poke around.
It’s got that classic collect-a-thon thing going—grab seeds, rescue ant buddies—but the controls are a little floaty, like Flik’s got springs in his feet. Still, there’s something weirdly satisfying about rolling up leaves or using a dandelion as a parachute. And yeah, the grasshoppers are still terrifying when they show up in swarms.
If you grew up with the movie, it’s a nostalgia trip. If not, it’s a decent platformer with a lot of charm, even if it’s not breaking any records. Just don’t expect Mario 64.
