About 720 Degrees
720 Degrees came out for the Nintendo Entertainment System in 1989, a port of the arcade game by Atari Games. It was part of that wave of late 80s NES titles trying to capture the feel of the arcade, focusing on a specific sport or activity with straightforward goals.
You control a skateboarder from an overhead perspective, navigating a large, open skate park. Your main objective is to earn money by performing tricks and completing events like slalom races, high jumps, and downhill runs. You use this cash to buy better equipment, such as new skateboards and pads, which help you access more difficult areas and events. The game is split into timed two minute sessions; if you run out of time without earning a new ticket, your run is over. The pacing is relentless, and the learning curve is steep, demanding quick reflexes and precise movements. It feels like a constant race against the clock where every trick and turn counts.
