64 Oozumou 2 is one of those weirdly specific N64 gems—a full-on sumo wrestling sim that actually gets the little details right. You pick your wrestler (some are absolute tanks, others are quicker but weaker), step into the dohyō, and immediately realize this isn’t just button mashing. Timing your shoves and dodges matters, and if you mistime a charge, you’ll eat dirt fast.
The physics feel surprisingly weighty for an N64 game—when two beefy dudes collide, you can almost feel the impact. There’s a learning curve, but once you figure out how to use the ring boundaries to your advantage, matches get intense. Just don’t expect flashy special moves—it’s all about positioning and raw force.
It’s in Japanese, but the menus are simple enough to navigate by trial and error. Definitely a niche pick, but if you’ve ever wanted to experience sumo without breaking a sweat (or a rib), this is as close as it gets on the N64.
