About 4 Wheel Battle
4 Wheel Battle was released for the Nintendo Entertainment System, though I don't recall who made it. It was one of those NES games that came out when the console was already full of racing titles, so it had to find its own space.
You control a small vehicle, driving across a series of single-screen battle arenas. The main goal is to destroy the other cars on each stage before they get you. Your primary weapon is a cannon that shoots forward, and you can collect power-ups to temporarily upgrade your firepower or speed. The stages are compact, forcing constant, close-quarters combat where you're always maneuvering for a better shot while dodging enemy fire. The difficulty ramps up quickly, with later stages becoming frantic scrambles for survival. It feels like a tense, quick skirmish every time you play.
