About Zero Tolerance
Zero Tolerance came out for the Sega Genesis in 1994, developed by Technopop. It was one of the few first person shooters on the system, arriving at a time when most games of this type were on computers or newer consoles. You navigate through a research facility overrun by hostile creatures, moving from one room to the next in a straightforward, grid based fashion.
You control a soldier tasked with rescuing survivors and stopping the alien threat. The main objective is to fight your way through the complex, find keycards to unlock new areas, and ultimately destroy the alien hive. Signature mechanics include managing a small inventory of weapons and items, and the ability for a second player to join in simultaneously for cooperative play. The pacing is tense and deliberate, with limited ammunition making each encounter significant; the difficulty is unforgiving, as enemies respawn and can easily overwhelm you. Playing it feels like a tense, methodical struggle for survival where every bullet counts.
