About Yuu Yuu Hakusho Gaiden
Yuu Yuu Hakusho Gaiden came out for the Sega Genesis in 1994, a time when the console was full of anime adaptations. Sega published it, and it was one of those games that felt squarely aimed at fans of the series. You got a side story that wasn't in the main show, which was a nice touch if you already knew the characters.
You control Yusuke Urameshi, moving through stages that scroll both horizontally and vertically. The main goal is to fight through these levels, defeating the demons that appear. Your primary attack is a straightforward energy shot, but you also have a special move that uses up a portion of your spirit energy. The game is structured with boss fights at the end of each stage, and the difficulty can be punishing, demanding precise jumps and quick reactions to enemy patterns. It feels like a solid, if challenging, run-and-gun experience from that era.
