About Xdr ? X-dazedly-ray
XDR, which stands for X-Dazedly-Ray, came out for the Sega Genesis in 1993. It was developed and published by a company called Micronet, and it fits right in with the kind of exploratory action games the system was known for at the time. You don't hear about it too often, but it has a certain look and feel that is very much of that 16-bit era.
You control a small, agile robot navigating a large, interconnected map filled with enemies and obstacles. The main goal is to explore this map room by room, activating warp points and collecting power-ups to enhance your character's abilities. Two of its key mechanics are a multi-directional shooting system for combat and a progressive exploration style where you unlock new areas as you gain new weapons and upgrades. The pacing is methodical, and the difficulty can be quite steep, demanding careful movement and precise shooting. Playing it feels like a tense, deliberate crawl through a hostile and intricate mechanical world.
