I first played the Worms beta on the Sega Genesis in Europe. It was developed by Team17, and it stood out on the system for its turn-based strategy approach, which was a different kind of chaos compared to the platformers and shooters common at the time.

You control a team of worms, taking turns with up to three other teams to eliminate the opponents. The main goal is to be the last team standing. Your turn involves moving your worm across the destructible landscape and then using a weapon, like a bazooka or a grenade, to attack. You have to account for wind strength and projectile trajectory to land a hit. The game moves at a deliberate, turn-based pace, but the difficulty comes from the unpredictable terrain and your opponents' clever shots. It feels like a tense, silly puzzle where one well-placed explosive can change everything.
