World of Illusion is one of those Genesis games that just oozes charm—Mickey and Donald stumble into this weird, dreamlike world where carpets fly, playing cards come to life, and everything has this soft, storybook glow. It’s not your typical Disney platformer, though. The pacing’s slower, almost dreamy, with these little interactive touches like pulling back curtains to reveal hidden paths or riding bubbles across gaps.

What really makes it stand out is the co-op. Mickey and Donald don’t just share the screen—they actually help each other. Donald can float with his umbrella to reach higher spots, while Mickey’s cape lets him glide further. Playing solo’s fine, but it’s way more fun with a friend, especially when you’re figuring out how your abilities combo together (or accidentally sabotaging each other).

It’s short, yeah, but the whole thing feels like playing through a lost Disney animated short. The music’s got that classic Genesis synth charm too—haunting in places, playful in others. If you’ve got a Genesis lying around, it’s worth dusting off just for this one.
