World Class Leaderboard Golf on the Genesis is one of those old-school golf sims that somehow nails the chill-but-competitive vibe. You pick your clubs, adjust for wind (which always feels way stronger than it should), and pray your putt doesn’t lip out. The greens have this weirdly satisfying pixelated roll to them—like you can almost hear the ball whispering "miss me" as it skirts the edge.
First time I played, I went full power off the tee and immediately dunked it in a water hazard. Classic. The career mode’s got this simple charm where you grind through tournaments, and the AI actually puts up a fight without feeling cheap. Still can’t decide if the digitized crowd noises are hilarious or slightly terrifying.
It’s not flashy, but there’s something about the way it handles that makes you want "just one more round."
