World Championship Soccer II is one of those hidden Genesis gems that never got a full release—just this beta floating around. It’s rough around the edges (obviously, since it’s unfinished), but there’s something weirdly charming about it. The animations are janky, the AI sometimes forgets to defend, and the controls take a minute to click, but once you get past that, it’s got this arcadey, fast-paced energy that makes it way more fun than it has any right to be.

You’ve got international teams, basic formations, and a surprising amount of slide tackles. The ball physics are… interesting—sometimes it sticks to players’ feet like glue, other times it rockets into the stands for no reason.
