About World Championship Soccer Ii (beta)
World Championship Soccer II was a beta version for the Sega Genesis, never officially released. It was developed by Sega, building on the original game during a time when the Genesis was home to many competing soccer titles. This version exists as an unfinished glimpse into what could have been.
You control a team of eleven players, aiming to score more goals than the opposing team. The game features a top-down perspective on the pitch, with players passing the ball, tackling opponents, and taking shots on goal. Signature mechanics include a through-pass system for sending teammates on runs and a sliding tackle that can be risky if mistimed. The pacing is generally quick, though the difficulty can spike, especially when the computer seizes on a defensive error.
