Winter Olympics (japan) Game

Winter Olympics: Lillehammer '94 on the Genesis is one of those early '90s sports games that somehow makes pixelated skiing and bobsledding feel intense. You get six events—downhill, slalom, ski jump, speed skating, bobsleigh, and freestyle skiing—and they all control differently enough that you’ll spend the first few runs figuring out which one actually clicks with you. The ski jump’s all about timing the takeoff just right, while bobsleigh feels like you’re wrestling with the D-pad to not crash into the walls.
It’s got that classic Sega vibe where everything’s a little janky but weirdly addictive once you get the hang of it. The music’s exactly what you’d expect: synth trumpets and drum machines trying to sound epic. Not gonna lie, the speed skating event feels like button-mashing torture after a while, but nailing a perfect ski jump run? That never gets old.
If you’ve got nostalgia for the era or just want to see how '90s games handled the Olympics, it’s a fun little time capsule.
