Wild Snake (proto) Game

Wild Snake is one of those weird, forgotten Genesis prototypes that never got a proper release—which is a shame because it's actually a solid little arcade-style game. You control this snake (duh) that slithers around eating fruit while avoiding obstacles and enemies. The twist? Your tail grows with every bite, turning the screen into this chaotic maze of your own making.
The controls feel surprisingly smooth for a prototype, and the pixel art has that classic early '90s charm—bright colors, chunky sprites, the works. First time I played, I crashed into my own tail within seconds, but once you get the hang of weaving through tight spaces, it gets weirdly addictive. Way better than it has any right to be for a game that got shelved.
If you're into retro curios or just want a quick arcade fix, this one's worth dusting off.
