WWF Super WrestleMania on the Genesis was my first real wrestling game—clunky but weirdly charming. You’ve got all the big names from the early '90s WWF roster, like Bret Hart and The Undertaker, though their movesets feel a little limited compared to later games. The grappling system takes some getting used to—half the time I’d just mash buttons hoping for a body slam instead of another headlock.
It’s definitely rough around the edges (those crowd sprites look like they’re made of cardboard), but there’s something fun about how over-the-top everything is. The ring announcer yelling "SUUUUPER WRESTLEMANIA" before each match still lives in my head rent-free. Not the deepest wrestling sim, but it’s got that early '90s arcade vibe down.
If you grew up with this one, the nostalgia hits hard—just don’t expect it to hold up like No Mercy or the later AKI games.
