Vixen 357 is one of those hidden gems on the Genesis that never made it outside Japan—which is a shame, because it’s a solid sci-fi strategy RPG with some real bite. You start off commanding a squad of mechs (because what’s better than giant robots?), and the battles get surprisingly tactical fast. Terrain matters, positioning is key, and if you just rush in, you’ll get wrecked.

The art’s got that gritty 90s mecha vibe, and the soundtrack slaps harder than it has any right to. It’s not as flashy as some of the bigger-name SRPGs, but there’s something satisfying about grinding through a tough map and barely scraping by. If you’re into old-school strategy with a side of dieselpunk flair, this one’s worth digging up.
