About Vixen 357 (japan)
Vixen 357 came out for the Sega Genesis in 1992, developed by Masaya. It was part of that wave of more complex, turn based games that started appearing on the system, sitting alongside other strategy titles that asked for a bit more patience from players.
You command a squad of pilots in giant robots, moving them across grid based maps in tactical combat. Your main goal is to complete mission objectives, which usually involve eliminating all enemy units or surviving a set number of turns. Signature mechanics include positioning your units to exploit terrain advantages and a repair system where damaged mechs can be fixed if they can safely retreat from the front lines. The pacing is deliberate, and the difficulty can be punishing if you rush in without a plan. Playing it feels like solving a dangerous, moving puzzle with every decision carrying real weight.
