Virtual Pinball on the Genesis is one of those weird little gems that somehow makes flipping a tiny digital ball way more fun than it should be. You get a handful of tables—some sci-fi, some classic arcade-style—and they all have that satisfying clack when you hit the flippers just right. The physics feel surprisingly decent for a 16-bit pinball sim, though don’t expect modern realism.
What’s cool is the level editor. Messing around with ramps, bumpers, and targets is half the fun, even if the interface is a bit clunky by today’s standards. I spent way too long trying to build the world’s most chaotic table, only to realize the ball just got stuck in a corner every time. Still, for a Genesis game, it’s got more depth than you’d expect.
If you’re into retro pinball or just love tinkering with old-school editors, this one’s a solid time-waster.
