About Virtual Pinball
Virtual Pinball came out for the Sega Genesis in 1993, published by Sega. It was one of the few dedicated pinball games on the system, arriving at a time when developers were pushing the hardware to simulate real world experiences. You got a full table on your TV screen, which felt like a decent achievement for the 16 bit era.
You control the flippers, aiming to keep the ball in play and rack up points. The main goal is simply to score as high as possible before you drain your last ball. The game features three distinct tables, each with its own layout and targets. You can nudge the table to influence the ball's path, but tilting it too much will end your turn. The physics are simple and a bit floaty compared to real pinball, making the ball feel lighter. It captures the basic satisfaction of a good save or a lucky shot, even if it lacks the weight of the real thing.
