Virtual Bart on the Sega Genesis is one of those weird, janky licensed games from the '90s that somehow sticks with you. You jump between these bizarre mini-games—one minute you're running from dinosaurs as a caveman Bart, the next you're dodging mutant vegetables in a messed-up science lab. The controls are clunky (because of course they are), but there's something charming about how aggressively random it all is.
Some of the stages feel borderline unfair, like the haunted house where everything kills you instantly, but that just makes finally beating them way more satisfying. And yeah, the pixel art nails that classic Simpsons look—Bart’s sprites have that perfect smirk. It’s not some hidden gem, but if you grew up with a Genesis, you probably rented this at least once and got weirdly obsessed with the pig-riding level.
Definitely more fun with a friend laughing at how ridiculous it all gets.
