Virtua Racing on the Genesis was mind-blowing back in the day—actual 3D polygons on a 16-bit console? Felt like stealing arcade tech for your living room. The tracks have this satisfying flow to them, especially when you nail a perfect drift around those wide turns. I always went for the F1 car first—handles like a dream compared to the stock car’s boat-like feel.
It’s tougher than it looks, though. Miss a braking point by half a second and you’re eating wall while the AI zooms past. The split-screen multiplayer’s where it really shines—nothing like side-swiping your friend’s car right before the finish line. Still holds up if you can handle the retro jank. Just don’t expect Forza-level realism.
