About Vectorman
Vectorman came out for the Sega Genesis in 1995, developed by BlueSky Software. It was a game that stood out in the later years of the console, a time when developers were really pushing the hardware to its limits. You could see that effort in the visuals, which used pre rendered 3D models to create a look that was different from a lot of other platformers on the system.
You control Vectorman, an orb-shaped robot, on a mission to stop a villainous supercomputer. Your goal is straightforward: fight through sixteen levels to save the planet. The gameplay is built on running and gunning, with Vectorman able to transform into different forms like a drill or a submarine to navigate specific environmental challenges. The levels are linear but packed with enemies and hazards, demanding quick reflexes and careful platforming. The difficulty is consistent, sometimes spiking in later stages, but the controls are responsive enough to make failure feel like your own mistake. It feels fast and fluid, a satisfying test of skill from start to finish.
