VR Troopers on the Sega Genesis is one of those licensed fighters that somehow manages to be both janky and weirdly charming. You pick from the show’s main trio—Ryan, J.B., or Kaitlin—and throw down in these blocky, slightly off-looking arenas. The animations are stiff, but there’s something oddly satisfying about landing a spinning kick or watching your character’s digitized face grimace after taking a hit.
It’s definitely not Street Fighter, but if you grew up with the TV show, there’s a weird nostalgia factor here. The music’s got that early ‘90s synth vibe, and the special moves are simple enough that you’ll figure them out after a few button mashes. Just don’t expect deep combat—this is more of a "play for 20 minutes with a friend and laugh at the awkwardness" kind of game.
