Urban Strike on the Sega Genesis is one of those games that makes you feel like an action hero from the second you start. You hop into a heavily armed helicopter—because of course you do—and suddenly you're buzzing through city streets, dodging skyscrapers while missiles and gunfire come at you from every direction.

The missions start simple—take out a few enemy bases, rescue hostages—but things escalate fast. One minute you're hovering over a rooftop picking off snipers, the next you're weaving through downtown traffic trying not to crash into a billboard. The controls take a second to get used to (that inertia is no joke), but once you do, pulling off tight maneuvers between buildings feels ridiculously satisfying.

What I love is how chaotic it gets. Enemy jeeps swarm you, tanks blast away from alleys, and sometimes you just have to say "screw it" and unload all your rockets at once. The pixel explosions hold up surprisingly well, too. Just don't get too trigger-happy—running out of ammo mid-mission is a real "oh no" moment.

If you miss the days when games threw you straight into the action without a 10-hour tutorial, this one's a blast.
