Tony La Russa Baseball on the Genesis is one of those old-school baseball games that somehow still holds up. The graphics are obviously dated, but there's something satisfying about the way the players move—clunky in that charming 16-bit way. You pick your team, adjust the lineup (because of course La Russa’s game lets you micromanage), and then it’s straight into a game where the pitching feels weirdly precise once you get the hang of it.
Batting’s the real challenge—timing matters way more than you’d expect, and foul balls happen a lot. Fielding’s simple but responsive, and the AI isn’t completely brain-dead, which is nice for a game this old. It’s not flashy, but if you’re into retro sports titles, this one’s got a solid pitch.
